My microwave died suddenly.
Well, "suddenly" is generous — it was over 10 years old. One day I turned it on and sparks flew inside. Opened it up and found rust spots all over the interior walls. Ten years is a good run.
I briefly considered getting another basic 50,000 won model. But since I was replacing something I'd use for the next decade, I figured I'd go for something better. That's how I found the Samsung Bespoke.

It's not just a microwave
Initially skeptical about spending 200,000 won on a microwave, but it turns out this is a combo unit: microwave + grill (top heating element) + hot blast (convection oven). Three in one.
The grill mode is great for reheating pizza. Microwave mode makes frozen pizza soggy. Grill mode gets the cheese golden and bubbly — feels like it came out of an actual oven.
The ceramic interior is the real MVP
This is honestly my favorite part. My old microwave had a stainless interior — curry splatters left permanent stains, and after years, rust. The ceramic wipes clean with one pass of a wet cloth. Curry explosion? Gone in seconds.
One month in
Auto menus work well. Frozen rice, soup, side dishes — one button each. No more guessing "700W for 3 minutes?"
It's really quiet. My old one hummed loudly. This one is barely audible.
Design is clean. It's Bespoke, so it looks good. White, minimal, fits the kitchen.
What to know
Grill/oven is supplementary. Don't expect it to replace a real oven or air fryer. Great for reheating bread and melting cheese. Not great for grilling meat.
Check the size. 23L combo unit is bigger than a standard microwave. Measure your shelf first. 489 × 275 × 370mm.
If you're replacing a microwave and want something that does a bit more, the Bespoke is a solid choice for the next 10 years.
